Types of glass

Because your safety matters to us, our doors come in the base price with thermally toughened safety glass (ESG) 8 mm thick. The glass is highly resistant to breakage. If it is damaged it breaks into small blunt pieces, protecting against serious injury.

The glass achieves airborne sound insulation of approximately Rw = 32 dB. For comparison, a paper honeycomb core dampens airborne noise only marginally, usually between 15 and 18 dB, and a 40 mm solid timber interior door provides roughly 22 to 28 dB.

If none of the glass options suits you, we can additionally apply a film to any of them, with different shades, graphics, decor, backing colour or a mirror effect.

Clear glass is included in the base price at no extra charge. All other glass carries a surcharge depending on the price category and the size of the pane.
